Teams

Victim Information Collection (VIC) Team

  • Team sets up in the Family Assistance Center away from the recovery area and trained staff members conduct interviews with victim family members.
  • VIC team will set up the initial file for each victim and prepare all necessary paperwork for the final disposition of the remains.
  • Will collect antemortem  information from victim families that will aid in the identification process.
  • Will document and interact with the funeral director as determined by the family, for the final disposition and return of remains.

Morgue Operations Team (MOT)

  • Will establish and maintain a temporary morgue.
  • Will establish identification of remains.
  • Collect postmortem VIP information.
  • Will prepare remains for final transportation to receiving funeral homes.

Management Support Team (MST)

  • Logistics: This team is responsible for ensuring the team runs efficiently including:
  • Lodging
  • Meals
  • Equipment
  • Record Keeping
  • Finances

Site Recovery Team (SRT)  being managed by D.A.R.T.

  • Will work with the front line responders to the actual incident site.
  • Will assist with grid work and proper documentation and recovery of remains and property.
  • Will transport remains to the Morgue area.

Disaster Portable Morgue Unit (DPMU) Team

  • Team is responsible for maintaining the inventory contained in the Mobile Morgue Trailers.
  • Also responsible for the inventory contained in the Push Paks Trailers.
